Bacterial community in the mushrooms and its adjacent soil

The main objectives of this study were to determine: 1) whether three different fairy ring fungi (Polyporus rhizophilus, Agaricus pseudolutosus, and Rugosomyces pseudoflammula) collected from the meadow of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP) selected specific endophytic bacterial communities due to the different niches created by them; 2) to compare endophytic bacterial communities to relative soil bacterial communities; and 3) to identify the key factors (host identity or soil parameters) that drive endophytic bacterial communities and relative soil bacterial communities. In addition, we included one species (Agaricus bitorquis) collected from the saline soil of the Qaidam basin in the QTP because we hypothesize that this species may possess a distinct endophytic bacterial community compared to the other three species included in the study.
