Earthquakes – Earthquake Zones – OGC API Features

The online map of earthquake events represents the earthquakes registered by the Rhineland-Palatinate Land Earthquake Service since 2000. As shown in the description of the station network (http://www.lgb-rlp.de/fachthemen-des-amtes/landeserdbebendienst-rheinland-pfalz/erdbeben-stationsnetz.html), the LER is a locally oriented measuring network, only earthquakes around Rhineland-Palatinate are shown. Non-tectonic, seismic induced events are not the subject of this presentation (DIN 4149:2005-04, Chapter 5.1). The earthquake zones are assigned intensity intervals according to the European Macroseismic Scale (EMS) and rated values of soil acceleration ag. The underlying reference reversal period corresponds to a 10 % probability of occurrence or exceeding within 50 years.
