Let's Discover the Coastline to Better Protect It!

This project made it possible to raise awareness among 5th and 6th grade students from the Middle North Shore about bank erosion, the importance of lyme grass in order to counter this phenomenon, the causes of erosion and methods to mitigate it. In addition to a classroom activity, the students then went out into the field to plant lyme grass. The project was completed in 2007. The deliverables produced as part of this project were a student notebook, a teacher's notebook, various games and a planting protocol for lyme grass.
