Monthly Mean Outgoing Longwave Radiation (OLR) NOAA/NCEP

A Monthly Mean Outgoing Longwave Radiation (OLR) dataset is available from the NOAA National Centers For Environmental Prediction and the Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO) at Washington State University. The data available at JISAO is in netCDF format and covers the temporal period through November 1998. JISAO offers the following data sets: - The data in netCDF format (6.3 Mbytes) for 1974-November 1998. Maps of "NaN"s are put in for January through May 1974 and March through December of 1978 for which there were no observations. The December 1998 map is also filled with NaNs. All errors in the netCDF file are due to Todd Mitchell. - File of fractional land for each grid box in netCDF. This file was calculated by Todd Mitchell from the "tbase" 5-minute topography data set, and can be used to construct a landmask.
