A preliminary examination of the Voyager 2 Ultraviolet Spectrometer (UVS) data of Shoemaker-Levy 9 (SL9) impacts of Jupiter revealed no obvious detections of anything which might correspond with the impact phenomena. In order to investigate the possibility that more subtle impact-related events were present in the data and to establish a formal statistical upper limit for the non-detection of the impacts, we performed a statistical analysis as described in the Division for Planetary Sciences (DPS) poster paper 'Voyager 2 UVS Observations of Jupiter During the Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 Impact Events', by R. J. Vervack et al.
