Replication Data for: Gender Differences in Economics PhD Field Specializations with Correlated Choices

Dataset of graduate students who have obtained a PhD in Economics during the years 2009 to 2018. It provides information on their specializations based on JEL codes. The data include demographic, institutional and economic information at the individual level: year of graduation, indicator for PhD granting institution, gender, anticipated salaries and the probability of academic employment by field. It is supplemented with department and institutional rankings, as well as the faculty size of departments and their female and male composition.
