Plant and soil data of field restoration experiment, Barataria Bay, 2014-06-20 to 2016-11-15

Field manipulative restoration experiment was conducted in April 2014 in northern Barataria Bay, Louisiana along a heavily oiled saltmarsh shoreline that vegetation had not recovered. Restoration strategies included two planting and two fertilization treatments: planting Spartina alterniflora and no planting in combination with or without applying slow-release fertilizer (15% N, 8% P2O5 and 11% K2O), resulting in four experimental treatments. Plant and soil samples were collected between 2014 and 2016 to determine the effectiveness of restoration strategies.
