The development of protist.guru was driven by the vision to allow biologists working with protists to tap into the vast amount of publicly available transcriptomic data. Hence, the CoNekt database framework was chosen to host this platform as it allows users to interact and perform various analyses on the data without prior experience in programming, which is often required to process and analyse raw transcriptomic data.
