The pathogenic microorganism in the faecal sludge (FS) management is the major environmental risk when treating with composting and septic tank process. In this study, combining of viromics and metatranscriptomics was used to evaluate the inactivation effect of FS pre-treated by potassium ferrate (PF), alkali (ALK), and sodium hypochlorite (NaClO).
