Barriers to Review Participation: Anonymized Survey Results

Funding disparities currently exist across racial groups of grant applicants and between Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and Traditionally White Institutions (TWIs), with grant review serving as a likely source of these differences. A survey examining grant review participation was disseminated to thousands of scientists and responses from MSI and TWI scientists were compared. Participation levels were found to differ significantly among these groups, but interest in peer review remained high. These data represent the anonymized results of the quantitative sections of the survey.
