The current and future potential soil organic carbon stocks of vegetated coastal ecosystems in the Bohai Rim, China

I estimated current SOC stocks of vegetated coastal wetland ecosystems in the Bohai Rim, China and projected their potential changes in the future at a spatial resolution of 10 m, using the boosted regression trees approach (i.e., a machine learning algorithm) and multi data sets. I projected that climate changes, sea level rise (SLR), and anthropogenic disturbances would jointly reduce 10.9% and 13.1% of SOC stocks in the VCEs during 2041-2060 under the Shared Socioeconomic Pathway 245 (SSP245) and SSP585 scenarios, respectively; decreased 20.5% and 22.3% of the SOC stocks during 2081-2100 under the SSP245 and SSP585 scenarios, respectively.
