Glucose selenol alleviates the effect of heavy metal cadmium on lipid metabolism disorder in rat

This study used 24 male rats to determine the protective effects of a new selenium molecule (glucose selenol) on cadmium (Cd) induced hepatic toxicity. Exposure to the heavy metal Cd has been a major public health concern. As the primary metabolic organ, the liver is more susceptible to Cd. This analysis identified the influence of Se on Cd induced hepatic toxicity and provided potential application prospects for glucose selenol in alleviating the impact of heavy metal pollution, such as cadmium, on human health.
