Replication Data and Analysis Code for: "Comparing methods for estimating geographic ranges in freshwater fishes: several mirrors of the same reality" submitted to the journal Freshwater Biology. The Geographic_Ranges-v1.0.0 file contains the necessary code and data to reproduce the analyses. The Curimatidae_Species_Ranges file contains the geographic ranges of fish from the Curimatidae family. These ranges were constructed using four methods: convex hulls, alpha-shape polygons with a fixed value (α = 6), alpha-shape polygons with a dynamic value, and species distribution models (SDMs). For the three polygonal methods (i.e., excluding SDMs), two range estimates per species are provided: (i) polygons that consider the entire land surface (unrestricted) and (ii) polygons that consider only freshwater bodies (restricted). For the SDMs, the ranges are restricted exclusively to freshwater bodies.
