资源简介:
Tenualosa ilisha (ilish, hilsa, hilsa herring, or hilsa shad) is a species of fish in the herring family (Clupeidae), and a popular food fish in South Asia. It is also the national fish of Bangladesh, Hilsa fish (Ilish in Bengali), has been accorded geographical identification (GI), which has tagged the fish as a Bangladeshi product from August 2017. The fish contributes about 12% of the total fish production and about 1% of GDP in Bangladesh. About 450,000 people are directly involved with the catching for livelihood; around four to five million people are indirectly involved with the trade. However, there has been a long time controversy regarding the number and distribution of hilsa stocks of in Bangladesh waters. The previous studies involving morphometry, allozyme, RAPD and otolith chemistry could not resolve the controversy. Thus whole genome sequencing and assembling is carried out to find genome wide distributed SNP markers for population structure and parentage analysis.
