Service points in Southwest Finland and Satakunta

The data product contains the locations and characteristics of public services in the regions of Southwest Finland and Satakunta (Service Data Repository) and the private sector (OpenStreetMap). The collection of service points in the service point database is done automatically through interface services, utilising open source technology such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS database environment and GeoServer software. Sources of information: OpenStreetMap (OSM) is one of the world’s largest map services. OSM is an open map service and its base data is openly accessible to anyone. The Service Data Repository (PTV) contains location and other information on services provided by the Finnish public administration. PTV’s maintenance processes have been built, with the help of which public administrations produce information for PTV. Technical information: The geometry of a database is a point. The coordinate system is ETRS-TM35FIN (EPSG:3067). The Service Point database is updated automatically once a day. The dataset is available as WMS and WFS.
