Comparing the Global Warming Impacts of Ireland and EU27

This repository provides the data needed to compare the relative global warming impact of the EU27 and Ireland in respective climate-neutral scenarios for these jurisdictions. The datasets eu_nzero_emissions_1850_2100 and eu_warming_nzero_ssp126_1850_2100 contain emissions and calculated warming impact in the EU27 climate neutral "NZero" scenario as defined by the European Advisory Board on Climate Change. The datasets ie_emissions_2050_300mt_l4_s2p2 and ie_warming_300mt_l4_s2p2_ssp126_1850_2100 contain emissions and warming impact of the IE scenario 300mt L4 S2_P2 as defined by Ireland's Climate Change Advisory Council (CCAC). Warming impacts are calculated in a constrained ensemble of FaIR2.2 model configurations, using a background SSP1-26 global emissions pathway and the standard "leave-one-out" method. The climate drivers used are CO2, CH4, N2O and SO2. Other short-lived pollutants and F-gases are omitted from the warming impact calculations. The dataset ie_emissions_2050_300mt_l4_s2p2 shows the projected IE 2050 emissions broken down by gas and sector for the 300mt L4 S2_P2 scenario. This was the most ambitious scenario considered feasible by CCAC. This scenario is temperature-neutral in ~2040, but still has significant CO2-equivalent agricultural gas emissions in 2050.
