Male C57BL6 mice, were randomly divided into different groups, the control group was given regular drinking water throughout the treatment periods, whereas the model groups were given DSS in the drinking water ad libitum for 8 consecutive days. The intervention group were administered galanin daily via intraperitoneal injection. The control group received daily injections of an equal amount of physiological saline solution.
