Chemical composition of pumices from the Great Meteor Seamount

Two samples of pumice, obtained by trawling from depths of 3100 and 4300 m on the eastern slope of the Great Meteor Seamount in the Atlantic Ocean, have been examined. Their petrochemical composition has been studied. The pumice is probably a product of youthful explosive volcanism on the Azores, displaced southward by surface currents.本研究对大西洋大流星海山（Great Meteor Seamount）东坡3100米与4300米水深站位经拖网采集的两件浮石（pumice）样品进行了检测，并对其岩石化学组成展开了研究。该浮石大概率为亚速尔群岛（Azores）年轻爆发式火山活动的产物，后经表层洋流向南搬运迁移。
