ADV coding catalogues for the transmission of data in the field of food safety, veterinary and consumer protection

The competent authorities of official food and veterinary surveillance shall take samples from the test material (e.g. foodstuffs). The results of the sampling are forwarded to the BVL as a dataset. In the BVL, a review is carried out for the EU Commission and the Federal Government. The results of the sampling are transmitted in a defined reporting format. For individual fields in the reporting format, encodings from coding catalogs are used. The currently used catalogues, like the drafts of new catalogues, are also published at https://katalogportal.bvl.bund.de/ and Ω (after prior registration). There it is possible to navigate through the web application “through the catalog” and create a encoding.
