Production of chitooligosaccharides by chitinases from Streptomyces corchorusii

Chitooligosaccharide has antifungal, immunomodulatory, antitumor and antioxidant functions.Chitinase is naturally produced by microbes, fungi, plants, insects and animals. Among them, chitinase produced by microbes has received increasing consideration, and potentially fill two needs: (1) they decrease the ecological perils of waste administration, and (2) can increase the worth of the degraded products. Streptomyces corchorusii chiF was isolated from the root of tobacco plant in Qingdao city,Shandong province, Eastern China in July 2023. The strain can significantly improve the conversion efficiency of chitin to chitooligosaccharide.
