Woody debris long transect census data for the 50-ha plot, Barro Colorado Island, Panama

This data package contains the woody debris census data from surveys conducted in 2010, 2014 & 2017 for long transects across the 50-ha plot on Barro Colorado Island, Panama. The aim of this census is to quantify the necromass of fallen coarse woody debris, debris (abbreviated CWD, pieces at least 200mm in diameter) and fallen fine woody debris, (abbreviated FWD, pieces less than 200mm in diameter). Fallen woody debris was censused using the line-intersect method along transects running north to south (500m) through the 50-ha plot, Barro Colorado Island, in 2010 and 2014 and 2017 as well as east to west (1-km transects) in 2017. Transects were divided into 20m subsections with FWD measured only in the first meter of each section. Methods followed the ForestGEO CWD Dynamics protocol, included here.
