For comprehensive understanding of the microbial community of P-removal bacteria in wastewater treatment, PCR based high-throughput pyrosequencing was applied to analyze the massive 16S rRNA genetic information contained in P-removal sludge from two lab-scale SBRs operated in alternative anaerobic-anoxic (A-A) or anaerobic-aerobic (A-O) conditions and the seed sludge from a municipal WWTP as well.
