Replication Data for “The Spatial Dynamics of Casualties in Border Insurgency: Spillovers and Resource Structures”

This dataset contains the replication materials for the article “The Spatial Dynamics of Casualties in Border Insurgency: Spatial Diffusion, Spillover Effects, and Social-Resource Structures in Thailand’s Deep South.” The dataset includes district-level casualty data, social-resource variables, spatial weight matrices based on road connectivity, and code used for data processing, spatial diagnostics, and model estimation. Specifically, the files support the replication of Moran’s I, LISA cluster analysis, and spatial econometric models including SAR, SEM, and SDM. The unit of analysis is the district-year in Thailand’s Deep South. The temporal coverage of the analytical dataset is 2004–2019, with the main spatial panel estimations focused on 2004–2013. Variables include conflict-related casualties per 1,000 population, conflict-cause categories, and social-resource indicators such as temples, mosques, schools, hospitals, primary health facilities, tax capacity, and electricity access.
