Tramadol for Acute Pain Management in Conjunction with Serotonin Receptor Antagonist Antiemetic Drugs: a Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Tramadol is frequently co-administered with serotonin receptor antagonist antiemetics (SRAAs) to mitigate opioid-related adverse events. However, conflicting evidence suggests that concurrent use of SRAAs may attenuate the analgesic effects of tramadol or reduce antiemetic efficacy. We conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the impact of SRAA co-administration on the analgesic effectiveness of intravenous tramadol in adults with acute pain.
