BOM, Australian Average Rainfall Data from 1961 to 1990

## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied. \n\n\n\nMean monthly and mean annual rainfall grids. The grids show the rainfall values across Australia in the form of two-dimensional array data. The mean data are based on the standard 30-year period 1961-1990.\n\n\n\nTo view the full metadata statement, you will need to download the dataset and view in the 'Description' tab in ArcCatalog.\n\n\n\nThis dataset has been provided to the BA Programme for use within the programme only. Information on how to request a copy of data can be found at www.bom.gov.au/climate/data.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nGridded data were generated using the ANU (Australian National University) 3-D Spline (surface fitting algorithm).\n\nThe resolution of the data is 0.025 degrees ( approximately 2.5km) - as part of the 3-D analysis process a 0.025 degree resolution digital elevation model (DEM) was used.\n\nApproximately 6000 stations were used in the analysis over Australia. ## **数据集历史**
栅格数据采用澳大利亚国立大学（Australian National University, ANU）的三维样条曲面拟合算法生成。

数据分辨率为0.025度（约2.5公里）——在三维分析过程中，使用了0.025度分辨率的数字高程模型（digital elevation model, DEM）。

本次分析共使用澳大利亚境内约6000个气象站点的数据。所有输入站点数据在分析前均经过严格质量控制，符合世界气象组织（World Meteorological Organisation, WMO）的数据质量标准。
