DATASET: Patterns of fish species richness in Greek lentic ecosystems: implications for freshwater macroecology and conservation planning

This archive accompanies the manuscript “Patterns of fish species richness in Greek lentic ecosystems: implications for freshwater macroecology and conservation planning” by Leonidas Vardakas, Costas Perdikaris, Nicholas Koutsikos, Sergio Riquelme Ferrández, and Eleni Kalogianni. It contains the master dataset, all Python scripts, manuscript-facing tables, and publication-quality figures required to reproduce the analyses. The study investigates fish species richness patterns across 170 Greek lentic ecosystems, focusing on species–area relationships, altitudinal gradients, ichthyoregional differences, and their implications for freshwater macroecology and conservation planning.
