Comprise cost sheets which include the following information for each fortnight: number of days worked, total output, average daily output, breakdown of total output into bottom coal, pillar coal and the percentage of total output, tons of soluble coal, employees coal and chitter and percentage of total output of each, surplus or deficiency over Railway weights as well as figures relating to hewing rates and shifts, costs of explosives, number of horses and output, number of miners and others employed, average output per employee per shift, percentage of miners idle and total quantity of large and small coal despatched and a detailed pay sheet of rates per ton for the pay period concerned and including the last pay period and previous half year. The fortnightly returns sent by the mine managers include the following: daily output, number of days the mine was in production, average daily output, absenteeism and attendance details, total number of employees and Miners' Federation Membership, labour turnover, shifts and average output per shift, stocks on coal dumps, details of the final disposal of coal and a brief summary of any unusual occurrences during the pay period, for example, fires, strikes, pit top meetings, break-downs and repairs, changes in demand for various types of coal and progress made.(5/1192-95, 5/7947-50). 8 boxes (part).
