Digital Archive from an Archaeological Excavation at Lotmead Farm, Swindon, Wiltshire, November 2023

This collection consists of images, spreadsheets and GIS data from an archaeological excavation by Cotswold Archaeology. Work occurred on land at Lotmead Farm, Swindon, Wiltshire, in November 2023. A number of natural features, interpreted as tree-throw pits, were encountered throughout the excavation area. The earliest archaeological feature encountered comprised a ditch, from which a flint blade dated to the Mesolithic-Early Neolithic Period, was recovered. Two ditches, one of which contained pottery of 1st- 2nd century AD date, was identified in the north-western half of the stripped area. A human cremation was recorded in the north-western part of the stripped area.
