Evaluating feline rectum fecal sample collection method using mineral oil lubrication for microbiome studies

Gut microbiota is the collection of microorganisms inhabited in the host's gastrointestinal tract. The gut microbiome is involved in the etiology of many diseases. In this study, a new feline rectum fecal sample collection approach using mineral oil as lubrication to reduce pain and bleeding has been systematically evaluated in terms of microbiome composition and abundance using whole-genome shotgun metagenomic sequencing.
