CERP Picayune Strand - USGS Groundwater Monitoring

This project comprises monthly groundwater level monitoring at twenty wells to supplement the Picayune Strand restoration project (PSRP) monitoring effort. Wells are operated and maintained by USGS staff, and water level data is collected monthly. This monitoring project will evaluate potential effects resulting from the PSRP project before, during and after restoration of the historic hydrologic regime.

"This monitoring dataset is associated with a locally managed USGS water database. Surface water, groundwater, and water quality data are compiled from these local, distributed databases into a national information system. The groundwater database contains records from about 850,000 wells that have been compiled during the course of groundwater hydrology studies over the past 100 years. Information from these wells is served via the Internet through NWISWeb, the National Water Information System Web Interface, which provides all USGS groundwater data that are approved for public release.
