资源简介:
Human adenovirus (HAdV) are non-enveloped double-stranded DNA viruses that can infect a variety of human tissues. HAdV can cause an array of clinical diseases, including conjunctivitis, gastroenteritis, hepatitis, myocarditis, and pneumonia, due to the various HAdV types and different tissue tropisms. Most of these occur in children younger than 5 years old and are generally self-limiting illnesses. However, some HAdV have been associated with severe infections and, less common, with fatal infections.HAdV belong to the Adenoviridae family and the Mastadenovirus genus. To date, a total of 86 types have been described and classified into seven species, from A through G, based on immunologic, biologic and biochemical characteristics, whole genome sequencing, and/or phylogenomics. Each particle contains a single linear, double-stranded DNA molecule of about 36 kb carrying approximately 40 genes. The protein capsid is formed by 252 capsomeres, including 240 hexons and 12 pentons and fibers.Sequencing will contribute knowledge to the virology and infectious diseases field in relation to the importance and significance in characterizing, describing and classifying new HAdV strains from samples obtained from patients with different clinical manifestations and diverse outcomes, including fatal cases. Complete genomes analysis will permit detecting regions of interaction with the host, in particular with the host's immune system and mechanisms of evolution. These characteristics have an impact on diagnosis, and prognosis. Data will be permit defining value signals for phylogenetic analysis and will allow studying intra and inter host viral evolution and the association with different clinical outcomes.
