TrackEddy v1.0 output of identified eddies from the AVISO+ satellite altimetry.

Data corresponds to the output of the TrackEddy algorithm which identifies, tracks and reconstructs the Gaussian perturbation of each coherent eddy-like feature in the global ocean. The input data is the satellite altimeter product produced by Ssalto/Duacs and distributed by AVISO, with support from CNES (https://www.aviso.altimetry.fr/en/data/products/sea-surface-height-products/global/gridded-sea-level-heights-and-derived-variables.html).

This dataset includes each identified coherent eddies from the AVISO+ dataset.  The Sea Surface Height was analysed using the TrackEddy algorithm, which identifies eddies based on their geometrical structure and represents them as Gaussians through an optimal Gaussian fitting. With this output, the end-user could reconstruct the coherent eddy-like field for the full satellite altimetry period.
