This collection was recorded during fieldwork into the sung poetry of Tajik Badakhshan, also known as the Autonomous Region of Gorno Badakhshan or simply Pamir (The Pamirs), in the south east of the Central Asian republic of Tajikistan. In this dataset the recordings from 1998 are available. Other datasets are available with recordings of 1992 and 1993 respectively. The recordings were made by Jan van Belle.
