Description of the farmed Atlantic salmon gill microbiome during an Amoebic Gill Disease episode along the West Coast of Ireland

Amoebic gill disease (AGD) is a wide spread disorder that affects different kinds of farmed fish. However, it is not clear how the gill microbiome influence the onset of the AGD, being the microbiome dependent of the local environmental conditions. Therefore, this study aims to describe the gill microbiome under the context of AGD infected Atlantic salmon that are located in six different farms along the West coast of Ireland.
