Supplies for Livingstonia would come by boat through Lake Nyasa [Malawi] transported by the African Lakes Corporation. Livingstonia was situated four miles from Lake Nyasa at Khondowe on a high plateau behind Mount Waller and transporting equipment up the mountain was difficult.
