The temporal expression of lncRNAs and mRNAs in the AOM/DSS induced primary colon cancer model

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have potential applications in clinical diagnosis and targeted cancer therapies. However, the expression profile of lncRNAs in colorectal cancer (CRC) initiation and progression is still unclear.In the present study, the expression profiles of lncRNAs and mRNAs were determined by microarray at specific tumor stages in an AOM/DSS-induced primary colon cancer model. A single AOM injection (10 mg/kg) is followed by three cycles of 2% DSS administration in the drinking water. The T0, T1, T2, and T3 samples indicated the time points of 0, 1, 2, and 10 weeks post-AOM injection. These differential expression genes (DEGs) exhibited a clear correlation with tumor progression.
