资源简介:
557 / 5.000 This study examines the perceptions of a representative UK sample on the roles of zoos for species and society. It builds on the work of Spooner et al. (2023) and empirically assesses whether their proposed new Framework, which incorporates additional roles more related to social science, is effectively supported and recognised by the UK public. The study examines this not only from the perspective of zoo visitors but of the general public, incorporating the views of those who have not recently visited zoos. The main conclusion of the study is the empirical support for the transition from the 4-Pillar Framework (composed by Education, Conservation, Research, and Entertainment) to the 7-Pillar Framework (composed by Education, Conservation, Research, Health & Wellbeing, Conservation Finance, Economy, and Policy & Decision-making). In this page you can find the questionnaire, the data, the R script, and the main references for this study.
