CRCP-Acropora spp. distribution in the upper Florida Keys 2013-2015 (NCEI Accession 0157538)

This data set contains data from visual surveys by snorkelers using handheld GPS units to map extant live colonies of the threatened corals Acropora palmata and A. cervicornis in the upper Florida Keys. Appropriate habitat strata were targeted and prioritized from habitat maps in 2005. An initial survey was conducted in 2005-2007 of these reef areas. Follow-up surveys are being conducted in 2013-2015 to asses potential substantial changes in distribution and/or abundance in the same reef areas.本数据集收录了浮潜者借助手持GPS设备开展目视调查所获取的数据，用于绘制佛罗里达群岛北部海域受威胁珊瑚物种鹿角杯形珊瑚（Acropora palmata）与细枝鹿角珊瑚（A. cervicornis）的现存活群落分布地图。2005年，研究人员依据2005年的生境地图选定适宜的生境分层，并将其作为优先调查对象。2005至2007年间，研究人员针对上述礁区完成了首次调查。2013至2015年间，研究人员正开展后续调查，以评估同一礁区内珊瑚分布及/或丰度可能发生的显著变化。
