The JNK signaling pathway has been implicated in human breast cancer. We wished to determine the mechanisms behind this observation. To this end, we used mouse models of breast cancer in which we deleted p53, or JNK1/2, or all three proteins in the mammary epithelium. We then characterized tumor cells by sequencing as well as in vitro assays to see what advantage JNK loss may confer on tumor cells.
