Dataset: Effect of oral soluble curcumin on clinical outcomes in children with autism spectrum disorder: a quasi-experimental before–after study
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the research article titled “Effect of oral soluble curcumin on clinical outcomes in children with autism spectrum disorder: a quasi-experimental before–after study”. The dataset contains anonymized participant-level data from a quasi-experimental study conducted at a tertiary care centre in Odisha, India, between November 2023 and January 2024. A total of 51 children aged 2–9 years diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using the Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism (ISAA) were included. Participants received oral soluble curcumin supplementation (80 mg/day) for a duration of 2 months. Clinical outcomes were assessed using the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) at baseline and post-intervention. The dataset includes the following variables:- Participant ID (anonymized)- Age (years)- Gender- ISAA score (autism severity)- ATEC domain scores: • Speech/Language/Communication • Sociability • Sensory/Cognitive Awareness • Health/Physical/Behavior - Total ATEC score (baseline and post-intervention) The primary outcome was the change in total and domain-wise ATEC scores following curcumin supplementation. Statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test due to non-normal distribution of variables. All data have been fully anonymized, and no personally identifiable information is included. Ethical approval was obtained from the Institutional Ethics Committee (Ref No: KIIT/KIMS/IEC/1427/2023), and written informed consent was obtained from parents or legal guardians. This dataset is provided to support transparency, reproducibility, and secondary analyses related to complementary therapies in autism spectrum disorder.
