Mass comma Enrichment comma and Entropy in a Typical Isolated Elliptical Galaxy

We propose a 100 ksec XMM observation of the isolated elliptical galaxy NGC2325,a fairly typical galaxy in terms of its Xray and optical luminosity. Studies ofisolated galaxies allow us to investigate the intrinsic properties of the hotgas halos in earlytype galaxies without the complicating effects of a clusteror group environment, and we will study in detail the metallicity, entropy, andtemperature profiles in this galaxy as indications of the effectiveness ofenrichment and feedback processes. In addition, we will shed light on the debateover the dark matter density profiles of ellipticals by uniquely determining themass profile of the same isolated galaxy using both deep Xray and opticaldynamical measurements. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
