This topic covers both the communication routes for trains and funiculars, as well as the associated infrastructures. Railway phenomena and cable-suspended transport have been included, among others. It is recommended that the rail network be complete, continuous and connected. (See paragraph 2.3.3 of the Preamble of the Phenomena Dictionary). The inclusion of the trans-European transport network as defined in Decision No 1692/96/EC2 and future revisions of that Decision is pending.
