Sunshine Beach Dunes - Ongoing Weeding Rehabilitation and Revegetation

Sunshine Beach Bushland Care will undertake this project with the sponsorship of Noosa Integrated Catchment Association Inc. This project will undertake control of weeds (including WoNS), rehabilitation and revegetation of dunes at Sunshine Beach access points 28 and 29 and the high dunes between access points 27 and 29. With contractor assistance, the Group will work with the community to repair eroded areas, install jute mat and logs, then revegetate the areas with multi-strata endemic plants. These will be hand watered, in-fill planted, monitored and maintained to reinstate dune stability, and to increase biodiversity and the area of habitat for wildlife, such as the Glossy Black Cockatoo.

本项目由努萨综合流域协会有限公司（Noosa Integrated Catchment Association Inc.）赞助，由阳光海滩灌丛管护团队承接实施。本项目将针对阳光海滩28号、29号出入口及27号至29号出入口间的高沙丘，开展杂草防控（涵盖国家重点管控杂草Weeds of National Significance，以下简称WoNS）、沙丘修复与植被重建工作。在承包商协助下，该团队将联合社区修复侵蚀区域，铺设黄麻垫与原木固沙设施，随后采用多层结构乡土特有植物完成该区域的植被恢复。所有植被将通过人工浇水、补植、监测与养护，以恢复沙丘稳定性，提升区域生物多样性及野生动物栖息地面积，为辉凤头鹦鹉（Glossy Black Cockatoo）等物种提供优质栖息生境。
