Vairimorpha bombi strain:O17.01 Genome sequencing

Nosema bombi (Microsporidia) is a fungal pathogen that infects bumble bees (Bombus), It infects the midgut and can have a significant impact on individual and colony fitness. N. bombi has been proposed to be a causal factor in the decline of North American Bombus. We will use whole genome analysis and genome resequencing to examine the level of N. bombi genetic diversity among species and populations within a species, including some undergoing population declines and others with stable populations.
