Soil moisture data

This is the dataset measured over three months from a wheat field and a grass field in Rothamsted Research. This dataset was used to calculate root water uptake from different soil layers in the two plant systemes. The results were published in New Phytologist (2025) - Field plants strategically regulate water uptake from different soil depths by spatiotemporally adjusting their radial root hydraulic conductivity.
