Exploring the Relationship Between Sagittal Shoulder C7 Angle and Musculoskeletal Health in College Students: A Longitudinal Study

The sagittal plane angle of the shoulder at the C7 vertebra is a crucial metric for assessing shoulder alignment. Typically, it's determined by the intersection of the line connecting the C7 vertebra (the prominent bone at the base of the neck) and the midpoint of the acromion. This metric is widely used to detect irregularities such as anterior head positioning or hunched shoulders, providing valuable insights into posture and alignment trends, especially among college student. A total 194 college going male and female students are included in this study to establish the normative reference of sagittal shoulder C7 angle. The C7 angle was calculated in two phases. Firstly, we took photographs of neck and head of participants in sagittal plane and angle was calculated by Kinovea software which was reliable methods. Normative was establish for the participants which came to be normal. The p value obtained was greater than 0.05(p=0.200) Hence the normative value is represented in terms of Mean±SD. The analysis was successful and normative score for C7 angle was 53.09±6.12.
