The role of enrichment object color and group dynamics on predatory and non-predatory play behavior in captive lions (Panthera leo) - Raw Data

Raw data from an independent behavior enrichment study on captive African lions in Zimbabwe. We investigated behaviors associated with different colored novel objects, and how behavior varied with group dynamics. We simultaneously presented a red and a green ball to each group and scored behavioral responses to them. Data includes groups of lions, number of lions per group, group type (male, female, mixed sex), Boomer Ball color (red or green enrichment object), age per group, number of trials, number of trials, minutes observed, and behaviors tested.本数据集源自津巴布韦圈养非洲狮的一项独立行为丰容（behavior enrichment）研究的原始数据。本研究探讨了与不同颜色新奇物品相关的狮子行为，以及群体动态（group dynamics）如何影响行为变化。研究人员向每一组狮子同时呈现红色与绿色皮球，并对其针对上述物品的行为反应进行评分。数据集包含以下信息：狮群分组情况、每组狮子的数量、群体类型（雄性群、雌性群、混合性别群）、布默球（Boomer Ball，红色或绿色丰容玩具）颜色、每组狮子的年龄、试验次数、试验次数、观测时长（分钟）以及所测试的行为类型。
