The value for nRNAP(rrs) was calculated using equations (1) and (2): nR(i)(av) and nR(j)(av) were calculated using equations (8) and (9); ntr(i)(av) and ntr(j)(av) were derived from nR(i)(av) and nR(j)(av) by means of nR(i)/tr(i) and nR(j)/tr(j). The value of εaa(av) was assigned to εaa(i) as reported for rpsA [23].
