(1) Data Collection: Real-time measurements are performed every minute via online monitoring devices to acquire two types of light intensity data for the designated area of Taihuyuan Town, Lin'an District: ① Current moment light intensity data (abbreviated as A, unit: Lux), ② Average light intensity data over the preceding minute corresponding to the current moment (abbreviated as B, unit: Lux).
(2) Data Processing: The light intensity variation index (abbreviated as α) is calculated using the measured current light intensity data A and the preceding minute's average light intensity data B through the formula: α = (A - B)/B.
(3) Data Application: The value of α can be either positive or negative. When α > 0, it indicates that the current light intensity is higher than the average light intensity over the preceding minute. When α < 0, it indicates that the current light intensity is lower than the average light intensity over the preceding minute. Combined with the magnitude of the light intensity data A, the quality of weather conditions can be analyzed and predicted, and early warnings for severe weather changes can be issued.
