NRS-20181 | Hairdresser licence cards

There are at least 3 different cards used (salmon and white), but the information is basically the same. Among the information recorded is the following:- surname, other names and address of applicant, sometimes date of birth, licence number, classification, receipt number, date and amount, sometimes provisional licence issued, date of approval and date licence issued, date approved by council. The first box containing cards "A" was disposed of accidentally by the creating agency. The index cards are 6" x 4" (c.150 mm x 10 mm).It is assumed that from 1 September 1992 the Tradex data base superseded the hairdressers licence index cards as the principal licensing record. The card system continued to be used for reference purposes until September 2000. The data in the Tradex data base is from 1/9/1992 (when the index cards ceased to be used) until 2004. The Tradex database was created as a Microsoft Access data base. The data in the Tradex database for hairdressers records the same data that is in the index cards.This series complements NRS 5548 Application files for hairdressers' licenses.
